Human + AI Collaboration

Human + AI Collaboration is about what happens to a person whose colleague is a model.

Two failures show up early and they are opposites. Some people accept everything the machine produces, because it arrives finished and sounds certain. Others ignore it entirely, having been burned once. Both are the same mistake: treating trust as a switch rather than a setting that should differ by task and move with evidence.

Then there is the question of what a person is now for. When a machine writes the first draft, the value of being able to write a first draft falls, and the value of knowing which draft is wrong rises. That shift is uneven, and it is hard to see in advance, which is why most retraining programmes are a guess dressed up as a plan.

And a new job has appeared that nobody has named. A great many people now spend their day checking output they did not produce. No job description covers it. No training exists for it. No tool is built for it. It is the fastest-growing role in the company and it does not have a title.

So this domain covers calibrating trust, deciding what to teach, designing the supervisor's job, and cataloguing the ways people and machines fail together.

The technology is easier to change than the habits that grow around it.
